Tansley Express July Newsletter: A Time of Reflection and Meeting Myself Halfway
A time of reflection and meeting myself halfway β’ July 2026
𧑠A Note from Tania
This month, I've found myself in a season of reflection. Not the neat, tidy kind. The kind where you sit with something for a while before you can even put it into words.
Somewhere in that reflection, I kept coming back to the word "challenge." We all have them. Some you can see. Some you can't. My daughter's aren't always visible until you know her. Mine aren't either, most days.
I think that's true for every one of us, neurodivergent or neurotypical, whatever label fits or doesn't. We are all carrying something. Some of it loud. Most of it quiet.
My hope, this month and every month, is that we can look past what we assume about each other and meet people where they actually are. With the respect and kindness we all genuinely deserve, seen challenges and unseen ones alike.
That's what meeting myself halfway has looked like for me this year. Maybe it looks like something for you too.
πΏπ¦ 18 July β Nelson Mandela International Day
67 minutes. That's the ask, one minute for every year Madiba spent in public service. I think about that number every year and wonder what our 67 minutes should look like this time.
π§ 24 July β International Self-Care Day
This one landed differently for me this year. I wrote a whole blog about learning to say "I need a few minutes" instead of running myself into the ground, and this feels like the day that blog was written for.
π This Month's Blog
Handling Tantrums and Rants, and Learning to Look After Myself Too
This is the final part of my six-part series on parenting a neurodivergent child, and honestly, the one I found hardest to write. It covers what to actually do in a tantrum, how to sit with a teenager's rant without trying to fix it, and the part I don't think gets said enough: I need boundaries too.
π We've Got a New Name!
You might have already noticed something different on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Pinterest, and TikTok, we're now officially Tansley Express.
Everything else stays exactly the same: same me, same mission, same books and resources built for kids who learn differently. This has always been about my daughter, and every child like her who just needed a different path to learning. The name just finally matches what we've been building all along.
Same page, same content, same community. Just a name that fits. Come find us at @TansleyExpress wherever you follow along.
