🌍 Happy Children's Day 🌍
Celebrating children everywhere, every day.

❤️ A Note from Tania

Today I want to celebrate my daughter.

She has ADHD and dyslexia, and honestly, I don't think we always stop to recognise how hard some children are working every single day — just to get through school, just to get through life.

Some days she is overwhelmed before the morning has even really started. Some days she needs a break, and she says so. But she still gets up. She shows up. And today, I want to celebrate that.

Not just her achievements. Not just the big moments everyone can see. But for the quiet bravery of showing up even when things feel hard.

I think a lot of our children are carrying things we can't always see.

So this month, I want us to celebrate children not only for achievements and awards — but for kindness, perseverance, emotional growth, and simply showing up. That counts. It always has.

🌍 This Month We Are Celebrating

🌍 1 June — Children's Day

More than 50 countries celebrate Children's Day in June to recognise the importance of children's rights, well-being, education, and happiness. For us at Tansley Express, every single day is Children's Day — but today we say it a little louder.

🌱 5 June — World Environment Day

One large tree can provide enough oxygen for up to four people every single day. Think about that the next time your child stops to look at one. Their curiosity about the natural world? That's not a distraction. That's learning in its purest form.

🌊 8 June — World Oceans Day

The ocean produces over half of the world's oxygen — and most children have no idea. Neither did I until recently. These are the kinds of facts that make a child's eyes go wide and remind us that wonder is one of the best teachers there is.

💨 15 June — Global Wind Day

Wind helps spread seeds and pollen, helping plants grow around the world. It's invisible, quiet, and does enormous work without anyone noticing. Honestly? Some days that sounds a lot like parenting.

👨‍👧 June — Father's Day

Today we celebrate fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, and every person who shows up with love and support — consistently, quietly, and without needing a thank you. Your children see you. Even when it doesn't feel like it.

🎵 21 June — World Music Day

Research shows that music helps children regulate their emotions and reduce stress. In our house, this is not news — we have been using music to change the energy in a room for years. If your child reaches for headphones when they're overwhelmed, they might already know this instinctively.

☀️ 21 June — Solstice Day

While many countries are celebrating the longest day of summer, here in the Southern Hemisphere we're heading into the heart of winter. Same planet, completely different experience — which is a beautiful reminder that context changes everything. For children too.

☄️ 30 June — Asteroid Day

Scientists study asteroids to better understand how our solar system was formed. Billions of years of history, written in rock, floating in space. If you have a child who loves space, today is the perfect excuse to go down that rabbit hole together.

📖 This Month's Blogs

Week 1

Why Nature Helped My Overwhelmed Child Feel Calm Again

There was a period where the only thing that helped was getting outside. No screens, no schedule, no expectations — just space. This blog looks at why that worked, what the research says about nature and emotional regulation, and why slowing down is sometimes the most productive thing we can do.

Week 2

Why Homework Was Causing So Much Stress in Our Home — And What Finally Helped

This one is personal. Homework time in our house used to be the hardest part of the day — not because my daughter was unwilling, but because by the time she got home from school, her tank was already empty. This blog is about what changed when I stopped focusing on the homework and started focusing on her.

🌟 Week 3 • Special Collection Launch • 16 June

I have been quiet about this for a while. Quietly working, quietly thinking, quietly going back and forth on whether it was ready.

But honestly, this collection has been more than two years in the making — not just the writing, but the living. The watching. The conversations at 9pm when she finally found the words for something she'd been carrying all day.

As both a mum and an educator, I kept coming back to the same gap: so many children are struggling emotionally, but they don't have the language for it yet. And the adults who love them most are trying so hard to help — but somewhere in between, the connection gets lost.

This collection was built to help bridge that gap. Emotional understanding. Communication. Calm. Confidence. Helping children feel safe enough to express what they actually need.

It comes from lived experience and from research, and it was made with the same hope I bring to everything I create: that it helps someone feel a little less alone in this.

Launching 16 June ❤️ More details coming soon.
